2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country, 5.3L Eng VIN D, 4WDSECTION Removal Procedure

    Using the appropriate trim tool, remove both windshield wiper arm finish caps (1) from the windshield wiper arms (3).

  2. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Remove [2x]
  3. Grasp the outer end of the windshield wiper arm (3) and gently rock the arm back and forth to remove it from the left and right side windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.

    Rotate the antenna counterclockwise to release the radio antenna from the antenna base.

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Apply two layers of masking tape to the painted surface around the top edge of the air inlet grille panel extension (1) to prevent paint damage.

  7. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the air inlet grille panel extension clips.
  8. Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension - Right Side (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Quantity of retainers may vary based on option content.

    Apply two layers of masking tape to the painted surface around the top edge of the air inlet grille panel extension (1) to prevent paint damage.

  10. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully release the air inlet grille panel extension clips.

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  13. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) - Remove [2x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Remove [8x]

  15. Disconnect the windshield washer nozzle hose from the windshield washer pump hose.
  16. Lift the front edge of the air inlet grille panel (2) and slide the panel forward from both hood hinges to remove.

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Starting and the rear of the garnish molding (1), pull upward at the B-Pillar joint to release the up/down clips first.

  19. Rotate the sill garnish molding (1) inboard after releasing the up/down clips and pull rearward to disengage the two clips on the forward vertical wall.

    Instrument Panel Carrier (1) - Remove - Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (WT, Custom) , or Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (without Front Floor Console) , or Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (with Front Floor Console)

    Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]

  25. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness connectors (2) and position out of the way.

    NOTE:

    There are two tabs on the body hinge pillar tie bar bracket that may interfere with the removal of the tie bar.

    Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (1) - Remove

  27. Use a suitable tool to push the tab (2) down.
  28. Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (3) - Remove

    NOTE:

    There are two tabs on the body hinge pillar tie bar bracket that may interfere with the removal of the tie bar.

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Remove

  30. Use a suitable tool to push the tab (2) down.

    Data Link Connector Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  32. Data Link Connector (2) - Reposition away
  33. Support the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module in order to prevent damage.

    Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness (1) clip and connector.
