Installation Procedure

2019 Chevrolet Trax Premier, AWDSECTION Installation Procedure

    Position the intermediate steering shaft and upper universal joint (1) in the vehicle.

  2. Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft upper universal joint and the steering column shaft to aid in installation.
  3. Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Universal Joint (1)@Steering Column - Install
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Intermediate Steering Shaft Upper Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
  6. Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the steering gear shaft to aid in installation.
  7. Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the intermediate steering shaft to aid in installation.

    Install the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint (3) in the vehicle.

  9. Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
  10. Intermediate Steering Shaft Middle Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
  11. Connect any electrical connectors as necessary.
  12. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side - Install - Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (Trax)Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side (Encore)
  13. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Inner Bracket - Install - Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Inner Bracket Replacement
  14. Steering Column Lower Trim Cover - Install - Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Encore, With BTM)Β Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Trax, With BTM)Β Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (Trax, Without BTM)Β 
  15. Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
