Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Use an assistant to position and hold the intermediate steering shaft inner boot inside of the vehicle.
Underneath the vehicle, position the upper lip of the intermediate steering shaft boot (2) downwards and align the plastic piece of the boot with the intermediate steering shaft inner boot retaining tabs (3) and push upwards until ALL of the retaining tabs are completely locked in place.
- Release the upper lip of the intermediate steering shaft boot (2) and position the boot in the same exact position it was in before removing.
- Slowly raise the steering gear (1) while keeping the notch on the intermediate steering shaft boot (2) aligned with the notch on the steering gear.

Position the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint (3) in the vehicle.
- Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the steering gear shaft to aid in installation.
- Align the match marks on the intermediate steering shaft lower universal joint and the intermediate steering shaft to aid in installation.
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
- Intermediate Steering Shaft Middle Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 49 N.m (36 lb ft)
