Circuit/System Testing

2019 Chevrolet Trax Premier, AWDSECTION Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector:K60 Steering Column Lock Module
  3. Test for less than 3 V between the test points:Control circuit terminal 2 & Ground
    • If 3 V or greater
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector:X1@K9 Body Control Module
    2. Verify the vehicle is equipped as specified:BTM
      • If equipped as specified

        Refer to:Step 3.3

      • Go to next step: If not equipped as specified

Go to next step: Refer to:Step 3.5

    3. NOTE:

For the next measurement, the vehicle needs to be On, but that is no longer possible when the harness connector X1 is removed from the control module K9.

    4. Remove the terminal from the connector:18 X1
    5. Connect the electrical connector:X1
    6. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
    7. Test for less than 3 V between the test points:Control circuit terminal 2 & Ground
      • If 3 V or greater - Repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
      • If less than 3 V - Replace the component:K9 Body Control Module
    • Go to next step: If less than 3 V
  4. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  5. Test for battery voltage between the test points:Control circuit terminal 2 & Ground
    • If less than battery voltage
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector:K9 Body Control Module
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Signal circuit terminal 2 & Ground
      • If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    3. Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:Signal circuit terminal 2 & The other end of the circuit
      • If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
    4. Replace the component:K9 Body Control Module
    • Go to next step: If battery voltage
  6. Replace the component:K60 Steering Column Lock Module
RENDER: 1.0x
