1 Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Screw Access Plug
NOTE:

Use the appropriate tool, remove the plug.

2 Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Clamp Screw
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Pull and hold the door handle in the open position.
  2. Do Not remove the cylinder clamp screw completely from the housing, unscrew the screw to a hard stop, releasing the cylinder from the housing.
  3. Release the handle, at this point the handle should stay in the open position.
  4. Remove the lock cylinder assembly.
  5. While screwing in the screw for the lock cylinder hold the handle in the open position, this will avoid the door handle from snapping once the spring pressure is relieved and the door handle returns to the closed position.
NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the outside door handle or housing to replace the lock cylinder.


Tighten 
5 N.m (44 lb in)
3 Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Bezel
Procedure 
Remove the lock cylinder bezel. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Bezel Replacement .
4 Front Side Door Lock Cylinder

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the lock cylinder gasket is in place when installing the lock cylinder to the handle.
  2. Code the New lock cylinder. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Coding (Free Wheeling)Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Coding (Non Free Wheeling) .
  3. Inspect the lock cylinder for proper operation.
