Component Testing

2019 Chevrolet Trax Premier, AWDSECTION Component Testing

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the KR20 Cooling Fan Relay.
  3. Test for 70 - 110 Ω between terminals 85/2 and 86/1.
    • If less than 70 Ω or greater than 110 Ω 

      Replace the appropriate KR20 cooling fan relay.

    • Go to next step: If between 70 - 110 Ω 
  4. Test for infinite resistance between the following terminals:
    • 30 and 86
    • 30 and 87
    • 30 and 85
    • 85 and 87
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the appropriate KR20 Cooling Fan Relay.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  5. Install a 20 A fused jumper wire between relay terminal 85 or 2 and 12 V.
  6. Install a jumper wire between relay terminal 86 or 1 and ground.
  7. Test for less than 2 Ω between terminals 3/30 and 5/87.
    • If 2 Ω or greater 

      Replace appropriate the KR20 Cooling Fan Relay.

    • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω 
  8. All OK.
