Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the splash shield cover.
  3. Remove the transfer case, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Replacement .

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor.
  2. After replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, use a scan tool to speed up the learn process. Refer to Crankshaft Position Variation LearnΒ .
