Component Testing
Relay Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Remove the component: KR95B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Relay
- Test for 70 to 110 ohms between the test points: Component terminal 85 & 86
- If not between 70 and 110 ohms
Replace the component: KR95B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Relay
- Go to next step: If between 70 and 110 ohms
- If not between 70 and 110 ohms
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
- Component terminal 30 & 85
- Component terminal 30 & 86
- Component terminal 30 & 87
- Component terminal 85 & 87
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: KR95B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Relay
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between the test points: Component terminal 86 & 12 V
Connect a jumper wire between the test points: Component terminal 85 & Ground
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Component terminal 30 & 87
- If 2 ohms or greater
Replace the component: KR95B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Relay
- Go to next step: If less than 2 ohms
- If 2 ohms or greater
- All OK.
M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch-Dynamic Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Connect a jumper wire between the test points: Ground terminal 2 & Ground
- Momentarily connect a 10 A fused jumper wire between the test points: Control terminal 1 & 12 V
Verify the component turns On and Off when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- If the component does not turn On and Off
Replace the component: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Go to next step: If the component turns On and Off
- If the component does not turn On and Off
- All OK.
S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 7 & Ground terminal 9 - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 7 & Ground terminal 9 - Pressed
- If 3 ohms or greater
Replace the component: S48E Multifunction Switch - Center Console
- Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
- If 3 ohms or greater
- All OK.
S58 Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S58 Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: S58 Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Pressed
- If 3 ohms or greater
Replace the component: S58 Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch
- Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
- If 3 ohms or greater
- All OK.
