Remove the rear door trim panel, left side. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (E24) .
- Remove the lock rods (1, 3) from the rear door latch control, left side (4).
- Remove the two nuts (2) that retain the rear door latch control (4) to the rear door.
- Remove the left side rear door latch control (4) from the vehicle.
