- Lightly lubricate the rear wheel speed sensor O-rings with rear axle lubricant. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (2) - Install [2x]
- Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
Wiring Harness Clip (3)@Rear Axle Bracket - Install
- Wiring Harness Clip (2)@ Frame Rail - Install [4x]
- Electrical Connector (1)@ Frame Rail - Connect [2x]
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Perform a low speed test of the wheel speed sensor function:
- Start the engine and allow to idle.
- Ensure the ABS or traction assist indicators are not illuminated.
- If the ABS or traction assist indicators remain illuminated, DO NOT drive the vehicle until it is diagnosed and repaired. Inspect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector for damage and proper installation. If either lamp remains illuminated. Diagnostic Starting Point - Vehicle
- Select a smooth, dry, clean, and level road or large lot that is free of traffic and obstacles.
- Drive the vehicle, maintaining a speed of at least 16 km/h (10 mph) for at least 5 seconds.
- Stop the vehicle and ensure the ABS or traction assist indicators are not illuminated.
- If either indicator is illuminated. Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
