Installation Procedure
Fuel Pump (2) - Install
- Fuel Pump Nut (1) - Install and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
- Engine Front Cover - Install - Engine Front Cover Replacement
- Fuel Injection Pump Drive Pulley - Install - Fuel Injection Pump Drive Pulley ReplacementΒ
- Replace the fuel filter. Fuel Filter ReplacementΒ
- Prime the fuel system. Fuel System PrimingΒ
- With the engine running, check the fuel system for leaks.
- Perform the high pressure fuel correction reset. High Pressure Fuel Correction ResetΒ

High Pressure Lines deliver diesel fuel under extreme pressure from the injection pump to the fuel injectors. This may be as high as 1600 Bar (23200 psi). Use extreme caution when inspecting for high pressure leaks. Fuel under this amount of pressure can penetrate skin causing personal injury, or death. Wear safety goggles and adequate clothing when servicing this fuel system.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- β’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- β’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- β’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
