Component Testing

2019 Chevrolet Cruze LS, 4D HatchbackSECTION Component Testing
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
    • {Notchback} Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the open position.
    • {Hatchback} Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 1 - The switch is in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:
    • {Notchback} Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 2 - The switch is in the closed position.
    • {Hatchback} Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 1 - The switch is in the closed position.
    • If 3 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms 
  5. All OK.
