Circuit Description
B+ - Relay Switch Supplied from a fuse.
Signal The control module input circuit has an internal resistance connected to 12 V.
Control - Component The output circuit is switched to 12 V to activate the component.
Control - Relay Coil The output circuit is switched to ground to activate the component.
Ground - Component Chassis Ground
Component Description
S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
  • The switch has a normally open contact.
  • When the switch is activated, the signal circuit to the control module is grounded.
S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
  • The switch has a normally open contact.
  • When the switch is activated, the signal circuit to the control module is grounded.
M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch The DC motor unlatches the rear compartment lid. Once the lid is unlatched, a switch in the latch will close, grounding the signal circuit to the control module K9 indicating rear compartment lid status.
X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel The fuse block houses various fuses and relays.
K9 Body Control Module The module controls various vehicle functions like lighting, central door locking, power windows, etc.
