Component Testing
M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch - Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Connect a jumper wire between the test points: Ground terminal 1 & Ground
- Momentarily connect a 10 A fused jumper wire between the test points: Control terminal 3 & 12 V
Verify the component turns On and Off when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- If the component does not turn On and Off
Replace the component: M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Go to next step: If the component turns On and Off
- If the component does not turn On and Off
- All OK.
S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior - Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3 - Switch - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points: Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 3 - Switch - Pressed
- If 3 ohms or greater
Replace the component: S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
- If 3 ohms or greater
- All OK.
