Diagnostic Aid
DTCs P1553 and/or P15F6 may be set by the ECM against the distance sensing cruise control module if an engine crank is made in conjunction to a bus wake up versus prior to a bus wake up (which occurs when a customer first opens the door and then cranks the engine). When the distance sensing cruise control module first wakes up, the internal microprocessor goes through an initialization that lasts less than 2 seconds. The DTCs can also be set if the battery voltage drops below 7 volts during a cranking condition. Under these conditions, the rolling count signal transmitted to the ECM for the distance sensing cruise control module may freeze while the microprocessor re-initializes. No driver information center (DIC) service messages or tell-tales will be displayed.
