Remove the rear side door trim. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Crew Cab, Extended Cab) .
1 Rear Side Door Locking Rod Knob Retainer
Procedure 
Release the locking rod knob from the retainer.
NOTE:

Ensure that the door lock system operates properly before installing the trim.

2 Rear Side Door Locking Rod Knob
Procedure 
Turn the locking rod down, pull upward and turning while releasing it from the latch.
