Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the starter heat shield fasteners (1) and remove the starter heat shield (2) from the starter.
- Remove the starter solenoid cable fastener (2) and remove the starter solenoid cable (1) from the starter.
- Disconnect the engine harness connector (3) from the starter.
- Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector, if equipped.
- Remove the starter mounting bolts (1) and remove the starter (2) from the vehicle.
