Telematics Communication Interface Control Module Generation Identification
To properly choose certain OnStar Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Symptom diagnostics you will need to identify which generation of the Telematics Communication Interface Control Module that you are working with. Listed below are instructions to determine which generation module you have-
- Scan Tool - Under Module Diagnostics select Telematics Communication Interface Control Module then select Identification Information. The generation of the module will be displayed under the data parameter Module Generation Identifier.
Or
- Inspect the label on the Telematics Communication Interface Control Module. The label will indicate if it is a Generation 9.XX or a Generation 10 module.
