Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front bumper fascia opening cover. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Opening Cover Replacement (Equinox) , Front Bumper Fascia Opening Cover Replacement (Terrain)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and ConnectionΒ .
  3. Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  4. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose retaining nut from the side of the battery heat shield and reposition the retaining clamp.
