Removal Procedure
2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, 2D Convertible, Standard TransSECTION Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel trim pad assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (without UV6)Β Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (with UV6)Β .
- Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
- Remove the windshield. Refer to Windshield Replacement .
- Remove the nut (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the vehicle cowl panel.
- Remove the fasteners securing the brake pedal assembly to the instrument panel tie bar. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement .
- If equipped with a manual transmission, remove the fasteners securing the clutch pedal assembly to the instrument panel tie bar. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement .
- Note the location and routing of the instrument panel electrical harness assembly, to ensure proper reinstallation.
- Disconnect the fasteners securing the instrument panel electrical harness assembly to the instrument panel tie bar and position out of the way.
- Remove the 2 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the windshield frame and plenum panel.
- Remove the 5 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the HVAC module assembly.
- Remove the 8 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the vehicle body.
- Support the HVAC module assembly, as needed.
- Remove the instrument panel tie bar assembly (1) from the vehicle.
