Removal Procedure

2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, 2D Convertible, Standard TransSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel trim pad assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (without UV6)Β Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (with UV6)Β .
  2. Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  3. Remove the windshield. Refer to Windshield Replacement .

  5. Remove the nut (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the vehicle cowl panel.
  6. Remove the fasteners securing the brake pedal assembly to the instrument panel tie bar. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement .
  7. If equipped with a manual transmission, remove the fasteners securing the clutch pedal assembly to the instrument panel tie bar. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement .
  8. Note the location and routing of the instrument panel electrical harness assembly, to ensure proper reinstallation.
  9. Disconnect the fasteners securing the instrument panel electrical harness assembly to the instrument panel tie bar and position out of the way.

  11. Remove the 2 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the windshield frame and plenum panel.

  13. Remove the 5 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the HVAC module assembly.

  15. Remove the 8 fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel tie bar assembly to the vehicle body.
  16. Support the HVAC module assembly, as needed.

  18. Remove the instrument panel tie bar assembly (1) from the vehicle.
