Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Loosen the upper ball joint nut.
- Install the J-42188-B Ball Joint Separator to the steering knuckle.
- Using the J-42188-B Ball Joint Separator (1), separate the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the upper ball joint nut.
- Support the steering knuckle and disconnect the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the upper control arm bolts (1).
