Removal Procedure

2009 Chevrolet Uplander LT, 3.9 MSECTION Removal Procedure
    WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the lower dash insulator and knee bolster.
  3. Remove the intermediate shaft from the steering column. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft ReplacementΒ .
  4. NOTE: Do not apply force to the sensor and the bearing assembly in a sideways direction.
  5. Remove the sensor electrical connector by using a suitable tool in order to pull the connector down around the right side of the steering column for accessibility.
  6. Remove the sensor retainer from the steering shaft.
