  • If the vehicle has an intermittent or seemingly unexplained cruise control disengagement concern, refer to the ECM scan tool data list for information that may aid in diagnosis. The cruise control disengage history will list the last eight reasons for cruise control disengagement. If an unexpected disengagement reason is found in these lists it may be necessary to diagnose that concern before diagnosing the cruise control system.
  • If the cruise control system cannot be engaged it may be inhibited from operating due to a failure in another vehicle system. It may also be inhibited due to the customer trying to engage or operate the system when the use of the cruise control system is not appropriate.
