Verify the vehicle is not in an OnStar initiated Stolen Vehicle Slow-Down mode. Look for a Reduced Engine Power message.

  • If in the Stolen Vehicle Slow-Down mode, perform the OnStar vehicle interface communication module (VCIM) Stolen Vehicle Slow-Down Clear with a scan tool. After performing the clear event procedure, press the Blue OnStar® button to inform the advisor that you need to be transferred to the Stolen Vehicle team to have the vehicle account updated.
