2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Base, 4.8 CSECTION Circuit/System Description
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2010 GMC Yukon XL, 2010 GMC Yukon, 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2010 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The brake switch is hard wired to the fuel pump/trailer brake control module. The body control module (BCM) sends a brake switch status serial data message to the fuel pump/trailer brake control module. The fuel pump/trailer brake control module compares the states of the brake switch signal to the serial data message after a master cylinder brake pressure sensor threshold is exceeded. If the brake switch signal and the serial data message are not in agreement or if the serial data message is not valid, a DTC will set and the trailer brake control system will be disabled.
