Circuit/System Testing
2009 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 4.8 CSECTION Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the wheel speed sensor low reference circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- LF Sensor circuit terminal 16
- RF Sensor circuit terminal 27
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for less than 1 volt between the signal circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- LF Sensor circuit terminal 15
- RF Sensor circuit terminal 26
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- LF Sensor circuit terminal 15
- RF Sensor circuit terminal 26
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following low reference circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground.
- LF Sensor circuit terminal 16
- RF Sensor circuit terminal 27
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate WSS.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 2 ohms between the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below.
- LF Sensor signal circuit terminal 15 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal B at the WSS harness connector
- RF Sensor signal circuit terminal 26 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal B at the WSS harness connector
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the appropriate low reference circuit terminals listed below.
- LF Sensor low reference circuit terminal 16 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal A at the WSS harness connector
- RF Sensor low reference circuit terminal 27 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal A at the WSS harness connector
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open or high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the appropriate wheel speed sensor. If the DTC resets replace the EBCM.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- β’ You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- β’ Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- β’ The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- β’ You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- β’ You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
