Windshield Washer Switch Circuit Test

2009 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 4.8 CSECTION Windshield Washer Switch Circuit Test
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the turn signal multifunction switch.
  2. Test for less than 20 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal M and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Verify the scan tool Windshield Wiper Switch parameter is Off.
    • If not Off, test the signal circuit terminal E for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the body control module.
  4. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal L and the low reference circuit terminal M. Verify the scan tool Windshield Washer Switch parameter is Active.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the turn signal multifunction switch.
