Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition ON, place the gear selector in park or neutral.
- Observe the backup lamps. The backup lamps should not be illuminated.
- If the backup lamps are illuminated, test the backup lamp supply voltage circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the BCM.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 52 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Test the backup lamp supply voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
