Removal Procedure

2008 Chevrolet HHR LT, 2.4 P, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Tie Rod Inner Jam Nut

  3. Use paint in order to place a match mark on the inner tie rod at the inner tie rod nut.
  4. Loosen the rack and pinion inner tie rod nut.

  6. Remove the rack and pinion outer tie rod end nut.

    Discard the nut.

  8. Use the J-24319-B:Β  puller in order to separate the rack and pinion outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
