2008 Chevrolet HHR LT, 2.4 P, AutomaticSECTION Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate control switch.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ξ© between the ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.
    • Traction Control Switch terminal A (with NP1)
    • I/P Multifunction Switch terminal H (without NP1)
  3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool BCM TCS Switch State parameter is Released.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit test normal replace the BCM.
      • Traction Control Switch terminal C (with NP1)
      • I/P Multifunction Switch terminal J (without NP1)
  4. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the terminals listed below. Verify the scan tool BCM TCS Switch State parameter is Pressed.
    • Traction Control Switch signal circuit terminal C and ground circuit terminal A (with NP1).
    • I/P Multifunction Switch signal circuit terminal J and ground circuit terminal H (without NP1).
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal replace the BCM.
  5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the control switch.
