2008 Chevrolet HHR LT, 2.4 P, AutomaticSECTION Removal Procedure

NOTE: The inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil and the multifunction turn signal switch are serviced as an assembly.
    WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and EnablingΒ .
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .

  5. Remove the wire harness straps from the wire harness assembly.
  6. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.

  8. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil bolts.
  9. Slide the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil off of the steering column. Discard the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil, if replacing.
