2008 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger ExtendedSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the I/P carrier to the vehicle.
  2. Install the wiring harness to the I/P carrier as noted in the removal procedure.

  4. Install the HVAC air distribution duct to the I/P carrier. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement .
  5. Carefully rotate the I/P carrier up and install the additional components.
  6. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  7. Install the bolts that retain the I/P carrier to the vehicle and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  8. Install the heater and the A/C control. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
  9. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  11. Install the instrument panel SIR module. Refer to Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
  12. Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad ReplacementΒ .
  13. Install the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .
  14. Install the passenger knee bolster bracket. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Bracket ReplacementΒ .
  15. Install the passenger knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster ReplacementΒ .
  16. Install the right hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  17. Install the left hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  18. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  19. Install the instrument cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  20. Install the I/P cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel ReplacementΒ .
  21. Install the drivers knee bolster bracket. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket ReplacementΒ .
  22. Install the drivers knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster ReplacementΒ .
  23. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  24. Connect the battery negative cable(s). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  25. Refer to Control Module References for programing and set up of the modules and instrument cluster that were removed.
