  1. Remove the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (Rack and Pinion) or Steering Gear Replacement (Non-Rack and Pinion) or Steering Gear Replacement (Two Mode Hybrid) .
  2. Place the steering gear into a vise.

  4. Remove the pitman arm nut (1) and washer (2).

  6. Remove the pitman arm from the pitman arm shaft using puller J 6632-01Β  or puller J 29107-AΒ  . See Special ToolsΒ .
