  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD)Β  or Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD)Β .
  3. Remove the air conditioning compressor-4.8 L, 5.3 L and 6.0 L engines. Refer to Compressor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

  5. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
  6. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
