- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD) or Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) .
- Remove the air conditioning compressor-4.8 L, 5.3 L and 6.0 L engines. Refer to Compressor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
- Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
- Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
