Circuit/System Testing

2008 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger ExtendedSECTION Circuit/System Testing
  1. Ignition ON, verify DTC P0615 is set as current.
  2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the crank relay, test for 60-80 ohms of resistance between relay terminals 85 and 86.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the crank relay.
  3. Test for less than 1.0 ohm of resistance the relay ground circuit and ground.
    • If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition OFF, connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 86 and the ground circuit terminal 85. Turn the ignition to the start position. The test lamp should only illuminate when the ignition is held in the start position.
    • If the test lamp is always On, test the control circuit for short to voltage.
    • If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  5. If the circuit tests normal replace the ECM.
