Installation Procedure

2008 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 6SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower control arm.
  2. Install the lower control arm bolts.
  3. Install the washers.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  5. Install the lower control arm retaining nuts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten nuts to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).

  6. Install the lower ball joint in the steering knuckle.
  7. If equipped, install the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (1500 Series) or Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (2500 Series) .

    Tighten:Β  Tighten nut to 240 N.m (177 lb ft).

  9. Install the lower ball joint retaining nut.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten nuts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

  11. Install the 2 lower shock absorber module mount bolts.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  12. Install the stabilizer shaft links to the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (1500 Series)Β  or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (2500 Series)Β .
  13. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  14. Remove the safety stands.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Align the front end. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment .
