CAUTION:
If a window is cracked but still Intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
Important: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and inner trim.
- Remove the lower garnish molding and the rear compartment front side trim panel for access to the inside of the window. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR COMPARTMENT FRONT SIDE (COUPE)
or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR COMPARTMENT FRONT SIDE (CONVERTIBLE)
or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR COMPARTMENT FRONT SIDE (HARDTOP)
in Interior Trim.CAUTION: Refer to DEFROSTER OUTLET CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
- Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
- Upper dash pad
- Defroster outlets and A/C outlets
- Seats and carpeting
- Disconnect the rear window defogger connectors at the window.
- Disconnect the OnStar®, if equipped.
