- Remove door upper trim panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement (Except Escalade) , Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement (Escalade) .
- Pull the door trim panel away from the door and support the bottom of the trim panel on the door panel hooks. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the front side door inside handle fasteners (1).
- Remove the front side door inside handle assembly (2).
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- If replacing the door handle, transfer the heated seat switch or seat adjuster memory switch, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Heater Switch Replacement , or Driver Seat Adjuster Memory Switch Replacement .
- Depress both tabs to remove the front side door cable and pull the cable rearward out of the handle assembly.
