  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the IAT sensor 2.
  2. Ignition OFF, for 90 seconds, test for less than 5 Ξ© between the low reference circuit terminal B and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool IAT Sensor 2 parameter is colder than -39Β°C (-38Β°F).
    • If warmer than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal A for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  4. NOTE: If a short to voltage is found on the IAT signal circuit, the 3A fuse in the jumper wire will open.
  5. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal A and the low reference circuit terminal B. Verify the scan tool IAT Sensor 2 parameter is greater than 130Β°C (266Β°F).
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the IAT sensor 2.
