When removing the connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion to the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
When removing the connectors inspect for damage or corrosion. Damage or corrosion to the following requires repair or replacement of the affected component/connector:
- Pretensioner
- Inflatable restraint module
- SDM module
- Inflatable restraint module wiring harness connector
- SDM wiring harness connector
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate inflatable restraint module.
- With the appropriate adaptor, connect J 38715-AΒ or SA9409Z-AΒ in place of the inflatable restraint module.
- Ignition ON, verify DTC is set as current.
- If DTC is not set or is set as history, replace the appropriate inflatable restraint module.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect J 38715-AΒ or SA9409Z-AΒ and the adaptor.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the SDM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 volt between the appropriate high control circuit and ground.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal 10
- I/P module stage 2 terminal 6
- Left roof rail module terminal 21
- Right roof rail module terminal 22
- Left side impact module terminal 13
- Right side impact module terminal 14
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 26
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 25
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 17
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 18
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for less than 1 volt between the appropriate low control circuit terminal and ground.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal 11
- I/P module stage 2 terminal 7
- Left roof rail module terminal 20
- Right roof rail module terminal 23
- Left side impact module terminal 12
- Right side impact module terminal 15
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 27
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 24
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 16
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 19
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the appropriate high control circuit terminal and ground.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal 10
- I/P module stage 2 terminal 6
- Left roof rail module terminal 21
- Right roof rail module terminal 22
- Left side impact module terminal 13
- Right side impact module terminal 14
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 26
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 25
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 17
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 18
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for infinite resistance between the appropriate low control circuit terminal and ground.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal 11
- I/P module stage 2 terminal 7
- Left roof rail module terminal 20
- Right roof rail module terminal 23
- Left side impact module terminal 12
- Right side impact module terminal 15
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 27
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 24
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 16
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 19
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less then 1 ohm between the following high control circuit terminals.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal B X1 and SDM terminal 10
- I/P module stage 2 terminal B X2 and SDM terminal 6
- Left roof rail module terminal B and SDM terminal 21
- Right roof rail module terminal B and SDM terminal 22
- Left side impact module terminal B and SDM terminal 13
- Right side impact module terminal B and SDM terminal 14
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 2 and SDM terminal 25
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 2 and SDM terminal 26
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 1 and SDM terminal 17
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 1 and SDM terminal 18
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Test for less then 1 ohm between the following low control circuit terminals.
- I/P module stage 1 terminal A X1 and SDM terminal 11
- I/P module stage 2 terminal A X2 and SDM terminal 7
- Left roof rail module terminal A and SDM terminal 20
- Right roof rail module terminal A and SDM terminal 23
- Left side impact module terminal A and SDM terminal 12
- Right side impact module terminal A and SDM terminal 15
- Left seatbelt pretensioner terminal 1 and SDM terminal 24
- Right seatbelt pretensioner terminal 1 and SDM terminal 27
- LF retractor pretensioner terminal 2 and SDM terminal 16
- RF retractor pretensioner terminal 2 and SDM terminal 19
- If not the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the SDM.
