IMPORTANT:
Perform this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for eight hours or more.
- Verify that DTCs P0112, P0113, P0097, or P0098 are not set. If any of the DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Ignition ON, observe the scan tool IAT sensor, the IAT sensor 2, and the ECT sensor parameters. The readings should be within 15°C (27°F) of each other, and also the ambient temperature.
- Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0096 should not set.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

When to See a Mechanic
