2008 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 6SECTION Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the MAF/IAT sensor and the IAT sensor 2.
  2. Ignition OFF for 90 seconds, test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the IAT sensor low reference circuit terminal D and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  3. Ignition OFF, allow sufficient time for the control module to power down. Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the IAT sensor 2 low reference circuit terminal B and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
  4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the ECM.
  5. Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the signal circuit terminal of the IAT sensor and the corresponding terminal E of the ECM.
    • If greater than the specified range, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
  6. Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the signal circuit terminal of the IAT sensor 2 and the corresponding terminal of the ECM.
    • If greater than the specified range, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
  7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the affected sensor.
