Installation Procedure

2008 Chevrolet Chevy Express G2500, Van Cargo, 6.6 6SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the compressor.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.

  4. Install the compressor mounting bolts.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Tighten the compressor mounting bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  7. Connect the electrical connector.

  9. Install new O-ring seals to the line fittings. Refer to O-Ring ReplacementΒ .
  10. Connect the suction line to the compressor.
  11. Install the suction line bolt (1) and tighten to 9.8 N.m (87 lb in).
  12. Connect the discharge line to the compressor
  13. Install the discharge line bolt (2) and tighten to 9.8 N.m (87 lb in).
  14. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  15. Install the LH wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Reposition and install the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LY7) or Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LH2) .
  18. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  19. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  20. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and RechargingΒ .
  21. Using J 39400-AΒ  , leak test the fitting of the repaired or reinstalled component. See Special ToolsΒ .
