Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Β  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)Β .
  2. Remove the surge tank inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe ReplacementΒ .
  3. Remove the surge tank outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LLT)Β  or Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LY7/LLT)Β .
1 Surge Tank Bolt
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:Β  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 Surge Tank Nut
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:Β  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 Surge Tank
