  1. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.9L engine, remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4)Β  and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4)Β .
  2. If equipped with a 2.2L engine remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (L61)Β .
  3. Remove the heat shield nuts.
  4. Remove the heat shield.
