Installation Procedure

2007 Chevrolet Suburban C1500, 5.3 0SECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel feed, EVAP, and return pipe assembly.
    NOTE: See FASTENER NOTICE .

  3. If vehicle is a crew or extended cab, install the fuel feed, EVAP, and return pipe assembly nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. If vehicle is a regular cab, install the fuel feed, EVAP, and return pipe assembly nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  6. Remove the caps from the fuel pipes at the fuel tank.

  8. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes at the fuel tank. Refer to REMOVAL & Installation (Plastic Collar) .
  9. If equipped with 4WD, install the torsion bar bracket. Refer to TORSION BAR REPLACEMENT .

  11. Install the EHCU (1).
  12. Install the bolts (4) attaching the EHCU bracket to the frame (5).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  14. Connect the brake lines to the BPMV.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  15. Connect the chassis electrical harness connectors to the EBCM.

  17. Install the EVAP canister. Refer to EVAP CANISTER .
  18. Install the transfer case harness to the clip bracket.
  19. Install the clip to the bracket on the frame.
  20. If equipped with 4WD, install the fuel hose/pipe clip to the bracket on the transfer case.
  21. Install the fuel hose/pipe clip to the bracket on the automatic transmission.

  23. Install the HO2S sensor connector to the bracket.
  24. Install the fuel pipe bracket to the bellhousing stud.
  25. Install the fuel pipe bracket nut (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  26. Lower the vehicle.
  27. Remove the caps from the fuel rail and EVAP pipes.
  28. Connect the EVAP canister purge tube (3).
  29. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes (1) at the fuel rail. Refer to REMOVAL & Installation (Metal Collar) .
  30. Install the fuel fill cap.
  31. Connect the negative battery cable.
  32. Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
