Installation Procedure

2006 Chevrolet Suburban K2500, 6.0 USECTION Installation Procedure
  1. Align the marks made during the removal of the steering shaft and the steering wheel.
  2. Fig 1: Installing The Steering Wheel Onto The Steering Shaft

  3. Install the steering wheel onto the steering shaft.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the steering wheel nut to the steering shaft.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the nut to 40 N.m (29 lb ft).

  6. Install the horn switch. Refer to Horn Switch ReplacementΒ .
  7. Install the inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
