2006 Chevrolet Suburban K2500, 6.0 USECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hood hinge to the hood. Refer to Hood Hinge ReplacementΒ .
  2. With an assistant, install the hood (1) to the vehicle.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the pivot bolt (3).

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the pivot bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Lower the hood.
  7. Install the outboard section of the cowl vent grille panel.

  9. Raise the hood.
  10. Install the bolt (7) holding the hinge to the link assembly.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the hinge to link assembly bolt (5) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the hood ground strap and nut. Clip the hangers and the lamp in place.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the ground strap nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  12. Lower the hood.
