WARNING: Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
The High Voltage Disabling procedure will perform the following tasks:
  • Identify how to disable high voltage.
  • Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
  • Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.

Failure to follow the procedures exactly as written may result in serious injury or death.

Preliminary Procedures:

  1. Disable the high voltage at the drive motor generator battery. Refer to High Voltage Disabling .
  2. Remove the upper cover and the right side cover. Refer to Drive Motor Battery Case Upper Cover, Front Cover, and Right Side Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive motor battery positive high voltage contactor relay assembly. Refer to Drive Motor Battery Positive High Voltage Contactor Relay Replacement .
  4. Remove the drive motor battery inverter current limit resistor. Refer to Drive Motor Battery Inverter Current Limit Resistor Replacement .
  5. Remove the drive motor battery power inverter current limit relay. Refer to Drive Motor Power Inverter Current Limit Relay Replacement .
  6. Remove the drive motor battery current sensor. Refer to Drive Motor Battery Current Sensor Replacement .
1 Drive Motor Generator Battery Positive Relay Insulator Nut (Qty: 3)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  6 N.m (53 lb in)

2 Drive Motor Generator Battery Positive Relay Insulator Assembly
3 Drive Motor Battery Control Module Bracket Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  5 N.m (44 lb in)

4 Drive Motor Battery Control Module Bracket
5 Drive Motor Battery Control Module Bracket Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  5 N.m (44 lb in)

6 Drive Motor Battery Control Module Bracket
7 Drive Motor Generator Battery Control Module Assembly

Procedure:

  1. Disconnect all push connectors from the module.
  2. After the control module assembly has been replaced and the re-assembly of the drive motor generator battery, enable the HV system. Refer to High Voltage Enabling .
