Installation Procedure
2006 Chevrolet Suburban K1500, 5.3 ZSECTION Installation Procedure

- Install the telescope adapter assembly (2) to the jacket assembly.
- Install the actuator retaining screws (1).
Tighten:Β Tighten the retaining screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the telescope actuator assembly (3) to the jacket assembly.
- Install the actuator retaining screws (4).
Tighten:Β Tighten the retaining screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the telescope drive ball (2).
- Install the telescope drive bolt (1).
Tighten:Β Tighten the bolt to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
- Connect the cable assembly (2) to the telescope drive motor assembly (1).
- Install the following items onto the jacket assembly:
- Housing support guide (4)
- Shoulder bolt (3)
- Compression spring (2)
- Retaining ring (1)
- Install the driver side knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Knee Bolster in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove J 42640 from the lower steering column trim cover.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
